ALL EXIT NO VOICE is a text adventure set in a future seized by techno-libertarians. Players navigate an underground network in pursuit of transhuman ascension, engaging in conversations derived from online forums, where grotesque residents and their micro-ideologies shape the path forward.
ALL EXIT NO VOICE is a game-based installation about fringe online ideologies.
The project depicts a future in which technocratic powers, having exhausted every frontier to colonise, retreat underground. From crypto-primitivists, to neo-monarchists, to gun rights absolutists – all those rejecting society and hegemonic law descend down to a land of their cultural freedom. Within these subterranean zones, they inhabit unstable communities built atop the sediment of their own technological and ecological waste.
The environment is grotesque yet strangely composed. Filth is arranged into moments of aesthetic order, reflecting a world where ruin itself has become design. Amid these environments, discourse takes new form: fragments from niche online forums in 4chan, Reddit, X or Discord, are constructed into political discussions, ideological quarrels, and in some cases, inconspicuous gibberish. The work invites the player to navigate this decaying network in the form of an interactive dialogue reminiscent of early text adventure games. Their responses shape pathways leading either to death by violence, to grotesque mutation, or towards transhuman ascension.
