CPH:LAB is CPH:DOX’s talent development programme that encourages creative risk taking, celebrates raw talent, facilitates collaboration across borders and business sectors and supports visionaries to push the existing boundaries of documentary filmmaking.
Since 2009, CPH:LAB has established itself as a leading talent program dedicated to nurturing groundbreaking interactive documentary projects. As a dynamic incubator, we empower creators to explore digital interactive technologies, including Mixed Reality (MR), Extended Reality (XR), and immersive experiences, reshaping the landscape of documentary storytelling in the digital era. Each year, on average, 9 projects are selected.
Our program encourages bold experimentation and fosters collaboration across diverse fields such as film, art, science, technology, and social entrepreneurship.
Through our comprehensive 8-month training program, selected teams have the opportunity to develop their projects in a supportive environment. Participants attend two immersive residential workshops in the heart of Copenhagen and receive valuable mentorship both on-site and online throughout the journey.
The lab culminates with the presentation of prototypes during CPH:DOX festival, where financiers and industry representatives from around the world gather to engage with the teams and experience their innovative creations firsthand.
