          Internships

          CPH:DOX offers internships where you can gain practical experience and expand your network in areas such as film, industry and education. Read more about available internships leading up to and during the next festival from March 11-22, 2026.

          CPH:DOX – Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival – is one of Denmark’s largest cultural events as well as one of the largest documentary film festivals in the world with more than 150,000 annual attendances. The festival’s platform for professionals CPH:INDUSTRY annually attracts 2,000+ national and international delegates. Our offices are located in Copenhagen.

          CPH:FORUM INTERNSHIP

          The Industry Department is in charge of activities aimed toward the wide range of film professionals and emerging talents attending the festival. As an intern, you will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players and learn about how film projects are matched with the right partners, investors, sales agents and distributors. The department is divided into groups that collaborate on a number of projects, including:

          • CPH:FORUM: Interns will assist in scouting film projects in development and production from across the world, assist with the project application process, communicate with selected producers and directors, and take part in the research of and communication with international film financiers, broadcasters and other stakeholders attending the event. They will assist in the planning and production of a 4-day high paced event.

           

          REQUIREMENTS:

          • Independence, a sense of ownership, responsibility, a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail are key competencies needed. A collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are also important values and assets within the department. 
          • Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The ability to speak Danish is not required.

          TIMELINE

          • CPH:FORUM internship period runs from October 2026 to April 15, 2027
          • An additional internship period runs from February 1, 2027 to April 30 or June 30, 2027

          CPH:LAB INTERNSHIP

          The Industry Department is in charge of activities aimed toward the wide range of film professionals and emerging talents attending the festival. As an intern, you will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players and learn about how film projects are matched with the right partners, investors, sales agents and distributors. The department is divided into groups that collaborate on a number of projects, including:

          • CPH:LAB Interns will participate in the production of an innovative professional training program, communicate with the mentors and participants, see the production of two onsite and online workshops, and participate in the communication of the program, documenting it on the web and in a printed catalogue.

           

          REQUIREMENTS: 

          • Independence, a sense of ownership, responsibility, a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail are key competencies needed. A collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are also important values and assets within the department. 
          • Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The ability to speak Danish is not required.

          TIMELINE:

          • CPH:LAB internship runs in two periods: Period 1 runs from August 2026 to December 2026 and Period 2 is from December 2026 to May 30, 2027. This can also be a longer internship running Sept. 2026 to April 30, 2027.

          CPH:CONFERENCE INTERNSHIP

          The Industry Department is in charge of activities aimed toward the wide range of film professionals and emerging talents attending the festival. As an intern, you will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players and learn about how film projects are matched with the right partners, investors, sales agents and distributors. The department is divided into groups that collaborate on a number of projects, including:

          • CPH:CONFERENCE Interns will see how a big international conference is organised, and what needs to be prepared in terms of the technical equipment, locations, presentation media gathering, schedules and timetables. They will communicate with speakers and curators, assist in the preparation of the production plans, coordinate a team of volunteers, prepare the venue and document the event

           

          REQUIREMENTS:

          • Independence, a sense of ownership, responsibility, a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail are key competencies needed. A collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are also important values and assets within the department. 
          • Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The ability to speak Danish is not required.

          INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP

          The Industry Department is in charge of activities aimed toward the wide range of film professionals and emerging talents attending the festival. As an intern, you will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players and learn about how film projects are matched with the right partners, investors, sales agents and distributors. The department is divided into groups that collaborate on a number of projects, including:

          • CPH:INDUSTRY (including International Delegations & INTRO:DOX): Interns will assist in organizing different networking and social events. The range of tasks is spread over the planning before and during the events. The tasks include communication with key speakers and partners, production of the event and assisting during the day of the event.

          REQUIREMENTS:

          • Independence, a sense of ownership, responsibility, a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail are key competencies needed. A collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are also important values and assets within the department. 
          • Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The ability to speak Danish is not required.

          GUEST INTERNSHIP

          The Guest Department handles the travel and accommodation of more than 1,000 international guests as well as the several hundreds of guests connected to the Danish film industry. You will get a unique insight into the festival world and production including project management skills and competencies.

          As an intern you will support the Guest Department by liaising with international industry guests, coordinating travel, accommodation, and accreditation, and welcoming and assisting guests at the festival centre Info Desk during the festival.

          REQUIREMENTS:

          • You will work closely with key visitors from the Danish and international film industry, making strong communication skills, organisation, and attention to detail essential.
          • Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. The ability to speak Danish is not required.

          TIMELINE:

          • The internship period runs from December 2026 to March, 2027.

          INDUSTRY GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP

          The Industry Department oversees activities aimed toward the wide range of film professionals and emerging talents attending the festival. As an intern, you will get a unique insight into the international documentary film community, its institutions and key players. 

          The Industry Graphic Design Intern will assist in creating graphic assets for print, social media, and other channels, ensuring consistency with CPH:DOX’s annual visual identity. The Industry Department produces a 200 page Industry Catalogue, as well as other printed materials such as wayfinding signage and a leaflet, digital assets, and slides for social and networking events.

          REQUIREMENTS:

          • Independence, a sense of ownership, responsibility, a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail are key competencies needed. A collaborative spirit, open communication and eagerness to learn are also important values and assets within the department. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) is highly preferred. 
          • The ability to speak Danish is not a requirement.

          TIMELINE:

          • The internship period runs from January to March, 2027.

          INTER:ACTIVE EXHIBITION INTERNSHIP

          The INTERACTIVE Exhibition is the annual XR and new media exhibition that takes place during the 12 days of the festival. It is a public exhibition open to the audience and invited guests where approximately 9-12 artworks from international emerging and established XR artists are exhibited.The Inter:Active exhibition is an ongoing exploration of creativity and technology. Each year we examine a different aspect of the impact of emerging tech on arts and society through a carefully-curated selection of recent immersive and interactive work, created in a variety of media.

          You will get a unique insight into the festival world and production including project management skills and competencies.

          You will be in direct contact with some of the most important artists  from the Danish and international XR  industry. It is therefore important that you have good communication skills (ability to speak Danish is not required), that you are well-organised and have attention to detail.

          As an exhibition intern you will help with the following tasks

          • Communication with artists and handling their production needs and plans
          • Website updates with all exhibition material and announcements
          • Exhibition programme coordination
          • Hosting arrangement in CPH for the exhibiting artists
          • Event production and exhibition set-up
          • Reporting and evaluation preparation
          • Research for potential partners / sponsors
          • Help run the exhibition during the opening hours
