          ARTISTIC RESEARCH IN FILMMAKING

          The Norwegian and Danish Film Schools have joined forces to explore how artistic research benefits filmmakers.

          The Film Schools invite you to join them for a sponsored coffee before the session, in Upper Foyer, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, between 15:40 - 16:00.

          This session showcases exciting projects and sparks discussion on their relevance. How can we share insights effectively? Are we overlooking key topics? Let’s examine artistic research’s role in filmmaking.

          Speakers

          Lise Birk Pedersen

          Lise Birk Pedersen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker specializing in character-driven narratives about people in the political arena. Lise is interested in the conditions of democracy and has made films about populism and democratic experiments in Italy and the emerging dictatorship and political violence in Russia. Her films have been screened at Danish and international film festivals and TV stations around the world. In addition to directing, Lise works as a consultant, teacher, and with the development of teaching.

          Kristine Ann Skaret

          Kristine Ann Skaret is the founder of Stray Dogs Norway, where she has produced the award-winning films “Life is Beautiful” (2023), Not That Kind of Guy (2022) and co-produced Dialogpolice (2024) among others. She is an artistic research PhD fellow at the TV-School, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences.

          Nefise Özkal Lorentzen

          Nefise Özkal Lorentzen is a Turkish-Norwegian writer, filmmaker and professor at The faculty of Audiovisual Media and Creative Technologies at Innland University, Norway. Her previous films were premier at CPH:DOX. Seyran Ates: Sex, Revolution and Islam (2021), A Gift From God.
