If you were to choose a single image to represent the capabilities of the human brain, what would it be? A chessboard? A space rocket? A blackboard filled with mathematical symbols promising to contain an enigmatic truth? Or perhaps an abstract work of art?

In the end, the human brain – which, after all, must live up to being the most complex structure in the universe! – cannot be reduced to any single one of the incredible ideas it has itself produced. But the question is thought-provoking in itself, and that is precisely the point of CPH:DOX’s major focus on the brain and consciousness.

Through various films, debates, and events, we raise the questions that make us look at ourselves with new eyes. With art, society, and science as its three dimensions, there is something for both hemispheres of the brain as we embark on a journey of exploration into inner space.
