MATERIALIZING THE IMMATERIAL: FILM AS SEEING AND SENSING

          16:15 - 17:00 Wednesday 20th Mar 2024 / 45 min

Equipped with an ever-expanding array of image-making technologies, artists turn to cinema to breathe substance into the ephemeral. In these films, abstract concepts from history to metabolism are rendered material through means of image-making. This gives rise to the question: To what extent does image-making shape our perception of the world? Or, is the other way round: Does the world itself dictate how we sense and see it?
