              Siyi Chen

              Siyi Chen is a documentary director and editor. Her debut feature Dear Mother, I Meant to Write About Death (2022) premiered at Busan and was nominated for Best First Feature at IDFA. She edited Made in Ethiopia (Tribeca 2024) and is a Berlinale Talents alum and a Firelight Documentary Lab fellow.; Siyi Chen is a documentary director/editor based in New York City. Films she directed or edited have been shown at Busan International Film Festival, IDFA, CPH:DOX, Hot Docs, among others.
