              A living Bharatanatyam master, who has spent fifty years becoming gods, rivers and demons on stage, lets us enter her own mind instead — a surreal interactive documentary of one woman who contains many game worlds.

              Jayalakshmi is an interactive docufiction — a third-person walking simulator set inside one real mind. For fifty years, Bharatanatyam master Jayalakshmi Eshwar has become gods, rivers, kings and demons on a bare stage. Now the stage turns inward. You move through shifting chambers of her memory, where her codified grammar of gesture and gaze becomes yours: a mudra opens a passage, an expression turns the season. A 1900s temple town. lost theorems. Flight drawn from Vedic texts. Archives of vanishing crafts from the far future, reanimated. Not levels, but rooms of a single consciousness — a mother who holds the cosmos, and a son who sees through her.

              Biography

              Avinash Kumar is a new-media artist and game director, founder of Antariksha Studio. For over a decade he has led the worldbuilding for a universe that includes the video game 'Antara' and transmedia project 'Elsewhere in India'. The studio's work looks at fusing South Asian classical arts, archives and game technologies to explore decolonisation through world-building.

              Biography

              Jayalakshmi Eshwar is a Sangeet Natak Akademi award-winning Bharatanatyam master with five decades of practice, trained at Kalakshetra under Rukmini Devi Arundale. An acclaimed performer, choreographer, Acharya and author of the definitive illustrated vocabularies of Bharatanatyam gesture, gait and expression, she lends Jayalakshmi its living voice.

              Murthovic (born Sri Rama Murthy) is one of India's most prominent independent electronic music composers, sound designers, and pioneering DJs. With a career spanning over two decades, he is a central figure in shaping the underground electronic and dance music landscape in South Asia. He is a co-founder of 'Elsewhere in India' - a globally touring transmedia project.
