Zedna
Mikisoq Hove Lynge, David Adler, Wiebe van der Vliet & Mikisoq Hove Lynge / Greenland & Denmark
“Zedna” is a poetic investigation of the process of decolonization and of broken identities.
“Zedna” re-introduces ancient greenlandic myths which have been told orally through generations in the Arctic in a new media form. In a world of Tick Tock, Youtube and Netflix are these myths losing their relevance?
These myths have assisted inuit surviving in the Arctic for millenia, but is there still any knowledge to gain from these today?
The director’s personal journey of self development engages him in a dialogue with both old and young Greenlandic people about what it entails being inuk and Greenlandic in 2023.The film creates a visual dialogue revolving around creativity, identity, history and culture and asks if it is important to know your roots and history to know who you are.
