          Rule of Stone

          Danae Elon / Canada & Israel / 2024 / 84 min

+ Talk: Are the architects complicit when they realize the politicians’ policies?

Meet Ibrahim El-Hassan, department chairman and member of Almen Modstand, when DOX:CONNECT brings Rule of Stone’s story of destructive architecture home to Denmark and compares Jerusalem with the Danish ghetto laws. Through a series of interviews with prominent Israeli architects in Danae Elon’s film, a political agenda by the Israeli occupation force is exposed, who by demolition and new architecture tries to control the balance of Palestinians to Israelis. In Denmark, we also see neighborhoods being torn down with a wish to change their ethnic makeup. How can you justify taking away someone’s home based on the color of their skin in a democracy? Could we imagine pointing the same policies towards neighborhoods where too many white Danes live?
