+ Debate: Forgotten wars in new African cinema

Join us for an exploration of the human experience through the lens of cinema. Together with the film's director Inadelso Cossa, director of Globalt Fokus, Mette Müller Kristensen, and Yara Costa Pereira, director from Mozambique and part of the Generation Africa Delegation at CPH:DOX, we turn our attention towards forgotten wars, colonial history and the impact of inherited trauma on local communities today. Join us as we explore the aesthetics of the new wave of African films from Mozambique and discover how creative documentary filmmaking can give voice to personal narratives and unique perspectives. The conversation will be moderated by writer Moussa Mchangama. Afterwards, Africa Engage invites all audience members for a drinks reception in the Asta Bar at Cinemateket. Presented in collaboration with Bullitt Film and Film Lab Zanzibar in connection to the project 'Africa Engage', supported by OpEn.
