SCIENCE:CINEMA
Are you passionate about science, tech, climate, and nature? Then look forward to three days at CPH:DOX dedicated to Science.
This year, our SCIENCE:CINEMA moves into Stærekassen at The Royal Danish Theatre for three days of films, debates – and croquis! We dedicate the first day of the scene, March 19th, to this year’s theme Body Politics, when we invite you to Gin & Croquis, where we will draw bodies in all shapes while drinking gin made from crooked cucumbers. Simon Toftgaard Jespersen, chairperson of the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, is the host and will be joined by Rane Willerslev, Anders Morgenthaler, and Christine Feldthaus.
Later the same evening, we show ‘Can’t Feel Nothing’ and discuss the internet’s theft of attention in the company of, among others, Le Gammeltoft from Netcompany, and author Camilla Mehlsen. After the debate, everyone is invited to drinks in the beautiful foyer of Stærekassen.
For the next two days at SCIENCE:CINEMA, you can look forward to films about magical mud with Minik Rosing, panel debate about the life of researchers with, among others, evolutionary biologist Eske Willerslev, doctor Bente Klarlund, as well as debates about the low-tech revolution and the fight against the throw-away culture, and the possibility of recreating our deceased family members through artificial intelligence.

Can’t Feel Nothing
David Borenstein / Denmark / 2024 / World Premiere / 81 min
An eye-opening film about numbness in the age of social media. The diagnosis is alarming, but it is made with understated humour and energy by director David Borenstein, himself a screen zombie in digital rehab.
