              Industry heavyweight Brian Newman gives a keynote session where he maps the current landscape of documentary film, highlighting new forms that enable us to picture a better future. Followed by Q&A.

              “Survive til ‘25” has been the saying for the past year, but here we are in March, 2025 and things are not looking much better in the documentary marketplace. But that’s because we’re focused on the “old map” of how things work, but the world has changed, and is changing. We need a new map for the future of documentary film. This keynote and conversation session will focus on ten big trends and themes that define the current moment and possibly the future of film. Speaker Brian Newman proposes we embrace these trends to draw a new map to the future.
