In Full Agreement
Panu Suuronen / Finland / 2025 / International Premiere / 85 min
The ideological war between Russia and the West takes on a highly dramatic form in Finland, where three Russian women are locked in a bitter dispute over Putin's regime and their own heritage.
Since Russia’s attack on Ukraine, many eyes have been on Finland. A huge country with relatively few inhabitants, but with a historical determination to defend itself. Finland is also a second home to almost 100,000 people from its large neighbour to the east. And most recently, the country has finally joined NATO and closed its border with Russia.
It is in this situation that we meet three Russian women, each with radically different views on Putin’s Russia and their own Russian heritage. Anastasiia, 29, has severed all ties to her Russian roots, burned her Russian passport and signed up for courses in Finnish defence. The somewhat older Karina and Marina hold fast to their Russian origins.
‘In Full Agreement’ is a sober picture of an ideological war in which ‘soft power’ such as art, culture and YouTube cartoons for children are part of the arsenal. When Anastasiia finally meets Karina, tolerance is to put to its ultimate test.
