Recommendations for this weekend’s festival programme
Friday 21st Mar 2025
Dear Festivalgoer,
The weekend is just around the corner, and while spring is in the air, the cold still lingers. Luckily, there’s plenty of warmth and unforgettable experiences to be found in the cinemas, where the CPH:DOX festival is in full swing.
Friday’s program offers a wide range of experiences: Watch a deeply moving comeback story about an MMA fighter’s journey back after a tragic accident, or dive into American politics with The Last Republican – an idealistic and humorous portrait of former Congressman Adam Kinzinger, one of the few Republican critics of Trump. After the screening, there will be a live online talk with Kinzinger himself.
Opening of SOCIETY:CINEMA
We’re also excited to welcome you to the opening of SOCIETY:CINEMA at Pressen, Politikens Hus, from March 21 to 23 – one of our three thematic venues!
Join us for Becoming Madonna, a discussion on cultural appropriation vs. allyship, followed by a party celebrating all of Madonna’s greatest hits. The program also includes powerful stories exploring everything from the justice and education systems in Greenland to NATO and neo-Nazism.
Scroll down for selected highlights from SOCIETY:CINEMA.
What else is happening?
If you want the full overview of the festival, you can always check out our schedule here or at the bottom of the page to find something that speaks to you – or simply explore the program on your own.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the festival!
