Democracy vs. Big Tech: The Battle for Our Digital Future

TechPlomacy, the diplomacy of technology. In our highly digitized world, it is a foreign and security policy priority to ensure that democratic values are also upheld behind the screen. It is Anne Marie Engtoft Meldgaard’s job as Denmark’s first Tech Ambassador to engage in dialogue with the global tech industry on behalf of Denmark and ensure that our democratic values and worldviews, continue into the digital part of our lives. But it is much easier said than done, to introduce rules and guidelines for the most powerful companies in the world. At Nørrebro Theater, you can meet the Tech Ambassador, Anne Marie Engtoft Meldgaard, in a conversation about how she fights every day for our collective digital future and how to introduce democratic virtues in an industry driven by ultimate power and economic sovereignty. Joining the conversation, is doctor and author, Imran Rashid and political scientist, Rebecca Adler-Nissen. The conversation will be moderated by Marie Høst, tech journalist.
