Launching the Annual Summit at CPH:CONFERENCE and introducing the curators

As we gear up for another exciting edition of CPH:DOX in the new year, we’re introducing some key updates to our signature industry events. With a refreshed structure for CPH:CONFERENCE, presented in partnership with Documentary Campus, and new, expanded venues for CPH:FORUM, 2025 promises to be our most exciting year yet.

Annual Summit

As a brand new initiative, we are launching an Annual Summit to kick off the Industry Week at CPH:DOX. This high-level event will bring together politicians, policy makers and industry representatives, providing a unique space for thought-provoking discussions on policies, the future of the audiovisual industry, its role in shaping public discourse, and the impact of documentary on society. The first edition is curated by Mark Edwards, former commissioning editor at ARTE France and former Director of Documentaries in Europe at Netflix, currently working as an independent producer and media consultant.

Co-presented by the Danish Producers’ Association, the Summit takes place on Monday, March 24 from 13:00-17:30 and we strongly encourage you to join! The event is open to all accredited guests.

CPH:CONFERENCE

Following the Summit, from March 25-27, the Conference, presented in partnership with Documentary Campus, will see mornings being spearheaded by Thom Powers, Artistic Director of the US’s largest documentary festival DOC NYC and host of the podcasts Pure Non-fiction and Documentary of the Week. Thom will host a series of in-depth interviews with prominent filmmakers present at CPH:DOX, when we gather for “A Morning With…”.

Curating the afternoon sessions for this edition will be Mandy Chang, creative director of Undeniable Productions. Mandy will handpick animated panels and keynotes focusing on the most urgent topics in non-fiction.

In addition, our returning format “Dialogues on Craft” will delve into the art and craft of filmmaking, sharing insights into the latest techniques and creative approaches. All through the Conference, the interactive and immersive arms of documentary will be featured in sessions curated by Mark Atkin, Head of Studies at CPH:DOX and director of Crossover Labs.

Finally, the Conference will conclude on March 28 with the return of the “Climate Story Lab Nordic”, with a focus on developing effective stories and engagement strategies to inspire meaningful action on climate change.

We sincerely thank our partners — Creative Europe – MEDIA, UBOD, The Danish Producers’ Association and Producers’ Rights Denmark (PRD) for their support.

CPH:CONFERENCE will be open to all accredited guests as well as the public, with ticket sales starting soon. Stay tuned for the full line-up announcement!
