Intelligence Rising
Elena Andreicheva / United Kingdom / 2026 / World Premiere / 73 min
Thinkers such as Yuval Harari and leaders from the EU, China and the US participate in a war game on AI, where they are confronted with geopolitical scenarios for possible future crises.
Marc Warner is an AI entrepreneur and father-to-be. He has spent most of his life developing artificial intelligence. Now he spends most of his time wondering whether that was a good idea. To ease his mind and confront his doubts, he brings together the world’s elite thinkers such as Yuval Harari and leaders from the EU, China and the US for a geopolitical wargame in which participants are confronted with possible scenarios for future global crises.
The result is an immensely fascinating, eye-opening and thought-provoking – and not least highly dramatic – film, where we sit at the table as some of the world’s sharpest minds try to find answers to the threats posed by both AI and each other. The representatives of the tech industry, the military and the humanities are also citizens of states with different interests and agendas. Has artificial intelligence set in motion a zero-sum game, or is it in everyone’s best interest to play on the same team for once?
