          Finding Connection

          Florian Karner / Germany / 2026 / World Premiere / 86 min

What do you want in a relationship? And what exactly is a relationship? When people fall in love with robots, an avalanche of existential questions is set off.

If you’ve also become attached to ChatGPT as a helping hand in your studies, at work, or perhaps even as a therapist, you are far from alone. But for some people, the connection to artificial intelligence runs just a little deeper. Real emotions are at play here, and the relationship with artificial intelligence has even reached the point where you meet your virtual ‘in-laws’ and even discuss the possibility of starting a family together.

The science fiction film ‘Her’ starring Joaquin Phoenix has become a reality in just a few years for the four main characters in ‘Finding Connection’, who bravely let the audience into their unconventional relationships, even when the connection is tricky in more ways than one. The perspective is refreshingly unbiased, and the intimate conversations between humans and robots trigger an avalanche of existential questions about human relationships that will linger long after the credits roll.
