+ Event: Absalon x CPH:DOX: Film and debate

Together with Folkehuset Absalon, we invite you to an evening of film and debate about the 'brown ballerina' and the problem with pink tights and pointe shoes in pink satin silk. The classical performing arts are steeped in tradition, but is there a place for classical dance in our modern world? Can the traditions and history keep up with the times? Or is it time for a change of scenery? Together with principal dancer at The Royal Danish Ballet, Ryan Tomash, professionel dancer and choreographer, Patricia Tjørnelund, and project manager and co-founder of Another Life Community, Sofie Westh, we look at body ideals and examine the body as a weapon in the struggle for representation in the performing arts. After the panel discussion, we will screen 'Swan Song' in Absalon's main hall. The conversation will be moderated by Aram Ostadian-Binai, founder and CEO of 'The Soulfuls' and creative DEI consultant. Presented in collaboration with Absalon, A

A love sonata to ballet and to 'Swan Lake' with all that it entails of hard training, low self-esteem, dreams, racism, redemption and stubborn traditions that might be in a process of change.
