SOCIETY:CINEMA
Once again this year, we welcome you to a three-day social festival in collaboration with our media partner, Politiken. From March 21–23, there will be SOCIETY:CINEMA in Pressen.
Imagine CPH:DOX as a newspaper—with a foreign section, political interviews, cultural features, and an overview of the most important events happening in the world right now. Combine that with a special focus on human, civic, and international rights—and a huge Madonna party—and you have our SOCIETY:CINEMA.
We kick off the weekend with a screening of The Last Republican, where we are joined by none other than this Republican, former U.S. Congressman Adam Kinzinger. In the evening, we present Becoming Madonna and delve into the discussion about the fine line between being an ally to marginalized groups and appropriating minority cultures—and then we wrap up the evening with a massive party in Pressen featuring all of Madonna’s biggest hits.
The rest of the weekend offers debates and film experiences ranging from the justice system in Greenland to the major challenges in the education system. Also, exclusively experience architect Eyal Weizman from Forensic Architecture, gain unique insights into Jens Stoltenberg’s final year as NATO Secretary General in Facing War, and explore how journalist My Vingren infiltrates a neo-Nazi network in Hacking Hate.
