With the arrival of hundreds of filmmakers from around the world, CPH:DOX is in full swing – and so is the programme, which continues to offer powerful and timely film experiences.

Among Tuesday’s highlights is the world premiere of the HUMAN:RIGHT AWARD-nominated film The Encampments, which documents the pro-Palestinian student protests at Columbia University in New York in 2024 – a movement that sent shockwaves across the globe.

You can also embark on a visually stunning journey to majestic Finland in the documentary gold-rush western The Last Misfits by The Golden River, or gain fresh perspectives on modern dating with Trine Hjorth Bønnerup – the couples therapist from Married at First Sight – who will share insights on dating culture in 2025 following a screening of the Chinese film The Dating Game.

          What else is happening?

If you want the full overview of the festival, you can always check out our schedule here or at the bottom of the page to find something that speaks to you – or simply explore the program on your own.

Have a great Tuesday and enjoy the festival!

The Encampments / Up close with the pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University in 2024

Tuesday, March 25 at 16:30 – Empire Bio

On a cold morning in April 2024, a group of students set up camp on the lawn in front of Columbia University in New York. They founded the Gaza Solidarity Encampment in protest against the war in Gaza – and against their university’s investments in the American and Israeli arms industries. The action made headlines around the world and quickly grew into the largest student protest movement in the U.S. since the Vietnam War. The Encampments is a powerful account of power and resistance in the 21st century – a compelling frontline report from an ideological battleground over justice and injustice.

The Last Misfits by The Golden River / World premiere of a documentary gold-rush western from Finland

          Tuesday, March 25 at 16:30 – Dagmar

More than a hundred years after the dust settled on the Wild West, gold fever still simmers quietly in the wilderness of Lapland. Here, a small community of prospectors lives far from modern society. It’s a proud, traditional way of life with roots dating back 150 years – now under threat from the only constant there is: change. A picturesque and bittersweet documentary from the cold North, where the last gold diggers search for fortune and freedom in the Finnish wilderness. Meet the director after the screening!

Expect an engaging and timely discussion about relationships, changing norms, and the very real challenges of today’s dating culture. Because yes – it’s still hard to date!

We Live Here / World premiere of a Kazakh masterpiece about the ghosts of the atomic age

          Tuesday, March 25 at 21:45 – Cinemateket

On a desolate former nuclear test site in Kazakhstan’s barren steppes, three generations are confronted with the legacy of the past as they struggle for survival and hope in a world on the brink of collapse. Zhanna Kurmasheva’s debut is a chilling and cinematic work that lingers long after the final frame. Meet the director at the screening!
