          ART:CINEMA

SMK – THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF DENMARK: March 20–22. From Greece to Greenland, with performances, talks, and live music. ART:CINEMA presents a program that explores the many facets of art, examines ancient myths and theories, and celebrates nature as an eternal source of inspiration.

The program opens on Friday, March 20, with a screening of ‘A Sweetness From Nowhere,’ where the film’s director, Ester Martin Bergsmark, will guide you on how to watch films with your whole body. Saturday offers, among other things, a screening of ‘The Mother Age’ followed by a conversation exploring the storytelling of ephemeral art. In addition, you can experience ‘The Music Farm’ by Katrine Philp, followed by a mini-concert with the classical musicians who appear in the film.

On Sunday, we will be showing, among other things, the two Greenlandic short films ‘Our Flag’ about the creation of the Greenlandic flag, and ‘Tamatta Ataqatigiippugut – We are all connected’, which is based on the director’s letter to Assuma Arnaa (Mother of the Sea). You can also experience a short film package featuring five films created by five new, major Danish artistic film talents.

Remember that your cinema ticket gives you access to SMK for the whole day, allowing you to explore the museum’s many exhibitions. If you have an SMK annual pass, you get a 20% discount on all screenings and events.

ART:CINEMA has been developed and presented in collaboration with SMK.
