Special screening of ‘Sofina’ – an audio/visual installation about grief
Join us as we move out of the cinema and into Cisternerne - an underground art gallery - for an introspective journey into hyper-fabricated realities.
In the underground darkness, we invite you to a very special experience when the group ‘A Good Year’, consisting of video artist Albert Hildebrand and composer/producer Tobias Laust (Liss, goss) occupy the old water reservoir in Frederiksberg and perform their debut ‘Sofina’ – an audio/visual project consisting of a short film and an album.
‘Sofina’ explores emotions and digital landscapes, where music and visuals unite in a highly expressive expression to transcend the ordinary. The film depicts a soul’s journey through stages of ecstasy, loneliness and ultimately grief.
The project began as an alternative grieving process after the loss of a close mutual friend, where all sounds, colours and images became a way to express and collect their shared grief: “Some forms of grief never go away and therefore need to be placed in a safe place in your consciousness. We wanted to transform grief into something beautiful, and that’s what ‘Sofina’ has become.”
The group’s collaborative approach brings a refreshing mix to the artistic expression and invites the audience into a world where different elements seamlessly come together.
For this special screening of ‘Sofina’, we will first show the short film and then ‘A Good Year’ will perform selected tracks from the album live.
Please note that Cisternerne is a very special venue, which, with its cold and damp climate, calls for waterproof shoes and warm clothing. Cisternerne will be filled with water for the show, so you will move through the rooms on walkways. There will be few light sources, so you should be comfortable in the dark. Unfortunately, Cisternerne is not wheelchair accessible.
The installation has a duration of around 40 minutes. Before the film, we serve a free drink (w/o alcohol) from To Øl.
