Science is Not Just for Men: A Conversation About Menopause
Meet the scientist from the film 'Menopause Mystery', Anette Tønnes, senior physician at Rigshospitalet, Pauline Maki, professor at the University of Illinois and Silje Mæland, University of Bergen, in a conversation about the state of menopause research.
97 percent of women in Denmark experience discomfort during menopause. Yet very few are aware of the extent of the discomfort and the symptoms, either before or during menopause. Why? Because research into women’s health is lagging very much behind. Fortunately, research into women’s health is now on the agenda, but is that enough?
Learn more about menopause when some of the world’s leading researchers talk about the state of research in 2026. Meet the film’s contributors, Anette Tønnes, senior physician at Rigshospitalet, Pauline Maki, professor of psychology, obstetrics, and gynecology at the University of Illinois and Silje Mæland, professor at the Department of Global Health and Community Medicine at University of Bergen, in a conversation about why it is essential to provide information about menopause to all, and the importance of conducting research on an equal footing for all genders.
This event is presented in collaboration with WIFT – – Women in Film & Television Denmark.
This talk is in English.
