Resistance and The Media: A Conversation About Palestine

After the screening of 'Palestinian Unwanted' you can meet the film's director, Omar Shargawi, in conversation with Anton Geist, editor-in-chief of Information, and Paula Larrain, Senior Advisor at Amnesty International.

‘Palestinian Unwanted’ was made after 7 October and is a film fuelled by strong emotions. Anger, desperation, fear – but also the will and courage to speak one’s mind and oppose others. As civilian death tolls rise in Gaza and cities lie in ruins, Shargawi and his like-minded colleagues try to rouse the public and politicians, while at the same time trying to hold themselves together. A film that will stand as a document of the very time in which it was made, and of a filmmaker’s personal and political mission to change it.

But Omar’s mission is not an easy one. We therefore invite you to a panel discussion about the Danish media’s coverage of the war in Gaza. A conversation about responsibility and powerlessness, about the future, and about the encounters between the media and humanity. The discussion will be moderated by Mads Frimann Petersen from TV2.

This conversation will be in Danish.
