Niels Skousen (film + acoustic mini concert)
Join us for an exclusive acoustic mini-concert with the beloved songsmith after he has been lovingly scrutinized by wife and film director Linda Wendel in a portrait film that spans six decades of music.
Niels Skousen’s music speaks effortlessly to people across generations. If you didn’t know that beforehand, you’ll find out in both the documentary we’re showing this evening and in the mini-concert that follows. Here, Skousen joins forces with the two younger guitarists Kristoffer Munck Mortensen and Anders Mathiasen, who have played in critically acclaimed bands such as Mellemblond, Murder, Vessel and others. First, however, we start with the film ‘Herfra hvor vi står – 80 år med Niels Skousen’, which shows how he has been with us all the way from the beat generation, through the hippie era, and strolled through the political landscape to today, where he still appears as a sharp and loving observer. As Skousen’s wife, director Linda Wendel has thrown moments and stories into the air, put the original lyrics under the microscope and created a portrait that embraces an entire artist’s life. And not least, she lets the music speak for itself.
(NOTE: The movie is shown without English subtitles.)
