Mushrooms as Medicine — an Evening of Dinner & Film
What can mushrooms teach us about the past and the future? Join us for an introduction to contemporary fungal research, followed by a dinner and documentary, in partnership with Grønt Marked.
Mushrooms are far more than something that ends up on a plate. They connect ecosystems beneath the soil, carry knowledge across generations, and are increasingly central to contemporary climate research. For this special afternoon, we explore the world of fungi from multiple perspectives – scientific, cultural and ecological.
We begin with an introduction to current fungal research and the growing interest in mycology in the context of climate change. What do we now understand about the underground networks that sustain forests and ecosystems? And why are scientists turning their attention more urgently toward fungi?
Following the introduction, we gather for a shared dinner created in partnership with Grønt Marked, who will prepare a mushroom-based dish especially for this event. Grønt Marked works to strengthen connections between city and countryside and to support a more local, community-based food system. For this occasion, their values take shape in a seasonal meal centred on fungi and carefully sourced ingredients.
After dinner, we continue with the film screening.
An afternoon of research, a shared mushroom meal and cinema — an invitation to look at fungi as knowledge, nourishment and part of a changing climate.
This event is in English.
