#MeToo in the Courtroom – Where Does the Fight Stand Today?
In connection with the screening of the documentary 'Silenced', we invite you to a conversation about the next chapter of the #MeToo movement: What happens when the fight against harassment moves from the streets and social media into the legal system?
When #MeToo broke through globally in 2017, a long-standing cultural silence was shattered. Millions of women around the world shared their experiences of abuse and power imbalance, sparking a far-reaching debate about gender, power, and accountability. But where does #MeToo stand today?
As the first cases begin to make their way through the courts, new questions arise: What does #MeToo mean in legal terms? Has legislation and the justice system kept pace with the cultural shift? And what challenges do women face when their experiences are assessed within the framework of the law?
In collaboration with Politiken, we invite you to a panel discussion on the legal aftermath of #MeToo following the screening of Silenced. The film follows, among others, human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson, who in several high-profile cases defends women’s right to speak out and resist in a time marked by both progress and backlash.
On stage, two strong voices will meet with different perspectives on the development:
-
Henriette Laursen, Director of KVINFO
-
Karoline Normann, lawyer from Advokatsamfundet
- Rikke Viemoes, journalist and writer, En Anden Tid, 2026 (Another Time, red.)
The conversation will be moderated by Johanne Lerhard from Politiken.
This conversation will be in English
