Mekdes mini-concert following the screening of ‘Adam’s Apple’
Come along when Mekdes plays an acoustic concert and performs a few songs from his album 'The Boy I Am' at Tapperiet BRUS.
After the screening of the personal documentary Adam’s Apple, which follows a family in transition and offers an intimate look at family life and change from the inside, the experience continues beyond the cinema. The director, who is also the mother of the film’s protagonist, introduces the documentary and speaks about the process of portraying her own family’s story on film.
After the screening at Empire Bio, we invite you to an intimate mini-concert with Mekdes at Tapperiet BRUS, right next to the cinema.
Mekdes is an independent artist and producer who won the ‘P3 Talent’ award in 2021. His personal album ‘The Boy I Am’ is his second album and moves freely between pop, Afropop, R&B and soul. The album revolves around the change in his own self-image and is not about landing in a fixed identity, but about the courage to let go of ideas about who one “should” be.
