Love in the Age of Algorithms
After 'The Dating Game', we debate modern dating culture when two debaters from the youth movement SAGA meet, and researcher Malthe Rye Thomsen nuances the topic.
At a time when nuances are often diluted in debates, and when parties are moving further and further apart, it’s more important than ever to be able to talk to each other across opinions, backgrounds and beliefs. Therefore, in collaboration with SAGA, Denmark’s non-partisan youth organisation, we invite you to a series of events where we dive into complex dilemmas and challenge each other in an open debate.
In this session, we focus on modern dating culture: Has love become a competition? How does technology affect the way we meet each other? And what does it do to us when algorithms, status and cynicism become crucial factors in the search for a mate?
After the screening of The Dating Game, Nathalie Kjærgaard and Amalie Plambech from SAGA will join in a lively debate, while researcher Malthe Rye Thomsen nuances the conversation with his insights into how digital platforms have changed young people’s experience of love and dating. Together, we create a space for new perspectives, sharp arguments – and most importantly: The acceptance of disagreement.
