Law and litigation as tools in the climate and environmental fight

Can law and litigation be effective tools in the fight for climate and environmental protection? This is what we will explore in an evening at Islands Brygge Kulturhus with the Lynetteholm project and the courtroom as the battleground in focus.

In collaboration with The Danish Climate Movement we present the film ‘The Battle for Lynetteholmen’. The evening begins with a brief presentation of the Lynetteholm project by Lone Johnsen from the Tænk os om-initiative, and after the film we’ll be having a moderated panel discussion exploring how law and litigation can serve as instruments in the struggle to safeguard the climate.

The panel includes Eskil Nielsen, lawyer on the Lynetteholm project, Helena Reumert Gjerding from Naturens Retshjælp, and Ariel Storm, litigation coordinator at Klimabevægelsen. The discussion is moderated by Stine Bardeleben Helles, chairperson of Klimabevægelsen.

Together, the panel will discuss how the legal system can be used to protect the climate and nature, the possibilities for challenging large-scale projects, and the limits of law in the green fight. Everyone interested is welcome.
