Jerrod Carmichael – Reality Show
The Emmy-winning comedian Jerrod Carmichael visits the festival for a conversation about his groundbreaking TV series ‘Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show’.
CPH:DOX presents a unique meeting between comedy, self-representation and reality TV when Emmy-winning comedian Jerrod Carmichael visits the festival in collaboration with HBO MAX. The event will take place on March 28 at 9 pm at Bremen Teater, where we will screen an episode of his groundbreaking TV series ‘Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show’. The screening will be followed by a conversation between Carmichael and the hosts from A Seat at the Table.
With his latest series, Carmichael explores the borderland between reality and fiction in an unprecedented way, using his own life as the stage for a deeply personal and often confronting experiment. His approach to documentary and reality pushes the boundaries of what we perceive as authentic.
The event is the third of its kind, where CPH:DOX in collaboration with HBO MAX invites prominent voices within comedy, documentary and television. Previously, the festival has been visited by John Wilson (‘How To with John Wilson’) and Nathan Fielder (‘The Rehearsal‘), and now Jerrod Carmichael joins the ranks of artists who rethink the narrative of real life.
