How Do You Provide Humanitarian Aid in Gaza?

Meet the films director, Poh Si Teng, in conversation with Dr. Thaer Ahmad, from the film, and Nadia Hardmann, senior researcher at Human Rights Watch.

After the screening of ‘American Doctor’ we take a closer look at the particular line of defense, that is humanitarian and medical aid. With the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, how does one even begin to provide aid? Meet Nadia Hardman, senior researcher in the refugee and migrant rights division of Human Rights Watch, together with director Poh Si Teng, film participant Dr. Thaer Ahmad and humanitarian advisor at Doctors Without Borders DK, Cecilie Barner Mathiasen, in a conversation about witnessing violations of basic human rights and using their platform to raise awareness about what is happening in Palestine. The conversation is moderated by Anders Jerichow, Politiken.

At SOCIETY:CINEMA, we take the TikTok-tempo out of the major geopolitical challenges and make room for nuances and reflection. With activists from the US, first-hand accounts from Gaza, and witnesses to the impact of social media on our mental health, we once again focus on human-, civil-, and international rights when Pressen opens its doors to the most important socital debates, here and now.

This event is presented in collaboration with Human Rights Watch.
