Dementia and art: Memory, loss, body and presence
Join us at Emmauskirken for an evening presentet en collaboration with Teater Fluks exploring dementia, community, and the supportive power of art. This is an evening for anyone who wants to experience how art can hold memory, grief, and presence — and create dialogue around some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
How can art help us understand memory, loss, and the fragile space between family and dementia? The film ‘Birita’ delves into exactly this, inviting the audience into a poetic and sensory reflection on memory in art.
The screening takes place in Emmauskirken, whose calm and atmospheric space provides the perfect setting for a film centered on fragility and deep humanity. After the film, Teater Fluks’ work ‘En Stille Strøm af Tid’ will be presented, where sound and space come together to create an experience that resonates with the film’s themes.
After the screening, a conversation about dementia and art will explore how artistic expression can help us process memory loss, foster understanding, and build communities around experiences that might otherwise feel isolating.
This conversation will be in Danish.
