          An Evening with Juliette Binoche

Iconic film star Juliette Binoche visits CPH:DOX for a very special evening at Grand Teatret. Experience Binoche's debut as a documentary filmmaker on the big screen and meet her in an exclusive conversation about her creative process.

Juliette Binoche is one of the world’s most iconic actors. She had long wanted to explore the world of dance, when she met British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan, who himself wanted to try his hand at acting. This led to a collaboration that resulted in the critically acclaimed performance “In-I”, which was performed more than a hundred times around the world. Binoche now makes her directorial debut with an intimate film about the demanding creative process. We follow the entire journey, from the first meetings and the gruelling training behind the scenes to the finished (and absolutely fantastic!) performance seven months later.

This is not just a film about dance: it is a film about the very act of creating something new and testing one’s own limits – and discovering completely new sides of oneself along the way. The trust between the two artists is in itself extraordinary. The result is a unique encounter between art forms: dance, performance, acting and film. Meet Binoche at the screening of ‘In-I in Motion’ on Friday 13 March at 20.00 at Grand Teatret where she will visit CPH:DOX to present the film and talk about the creative process after the screening.
