‘A Stranger in the World’ with choir performance
After the screening, we fill the chambers of Cisterne with voices and singing when the chamber choir Musica will perform the music from the film.
On March 24th at 6:00 PM, CPH:DOX invites you to a very special film and sound experience when we transform the underground chambers of the Cisternerne into a cinema and present an exclusive screening of Sturla Pilskog’s new documentary film ‘A Stranger in the World’, which will have its world premiere at CPH:DOX.
In ‘A Stranger in the World’, a father (the director) explores his connections to his autistic son and his encounter with the world, while a composer (Magnar Åm) moves around the landscape and sounds of the stalactite caves, which he uses as inspiration for a choral work.
After the film, we fill the chambers with voices and singing when the chamber choir Musica performs that particular choral work live in the Cisternerne. The event also marks the opening of Jacob Kudsk Steensen’s new exhibition ‘Psychosphere’ a few days earlier in the Cisternerne. Here, the award-winning artist explores the relationship between nature, time and technology in an audiovisual total installation.
