Zlatan’s Nose
Nils Toftenow, Mathias Rosberg & Olle Toftenow / Sweden / 2025 / World Premiere / 83 min
Someone has stolen the nose from a statue of world-famous football star Zlatan Ibrahimović. A film crew hires a private detective to solve the mystery in a hilarious, sprawling romp of a true crime film.
Everyone in Malmö loves Zlatan Ibrahimović. Or at least they did until he bought shares in a rival club and became so unpopular that unknown perpetrators cut off the nose of the statue erected in his honour in the city centre. No one has seen the nose since.
A local film crew hires a private detective to solve the mystery. Enter the Øresund train and up the escalator comes Claes Ekman. A private detective from Gothenburg who can best be described as Barnaby, Columbo and Wallander rolled into one. Long coat, water-combed hair and charm cloth. But just as the trail starts to heat up, the protagonist himself starts directing the film crew to make the documentary more exciting.
The investigation takes one unexpected turn after another in an imaginative and wild and very funny attempt to find Zlatan’s nose. Will Ekman and the film crew succeed? You’ll have to see for yourself to believe it.
