Truth or Dare
Maja Classen / Germany / 2024 / International Premiere / 75 min
In the heart of Berlin's sex-positive queer scene, a collective of people come together for a game of 'truth and dare' focusing on sexuality, consent and self-knowledge.
A lone camera glides through Berlin’s empty nightclubs. Dance floors and darkrooms lie dark and deserted. A voice welcomes us somewhere in the darkness, inviting us into ‘Truth or Dare’ – a film from the heart of the city’s queer sex-positive scene. Inspired by the collective loneliness of the covid era and the longing for other bodies during the lockdowns, Maja Classen leads us into a collective of people who have found themselves and each other in legendarily tolerant Berlin, coming together to play a game of ‘truth or dare’. Thoughts, feelings and desires take center stage, but political responsibility for one’s own and other bodies is never far away in a conversation that takes consent and self-knowledge as seriously as sexuality itself.
