The Tender Revolution
Annelie Boros / Germany / 2024 / International Premiere / 91 min
In a society where caregiving is rarely valued, four idealists seek to change the system from within with tenderness, love and care - and start a tender revolution.
Arnold cares for his needy son around the clock because the system offers no dignified alternative. Bożena, a Polish nurse, organizes her colleagues and fights for better working conditions. Amanda, a Peruvian climate activist, sees her community transformed by the climate crisis. And Samuel, paralyzed from the waist down, balances between being a friend and employer to his helpers.
‘The Tender Revolution’ follows people who have had enough. Who refuse to accept that there is no time or resources to take care of themselves and each other. Now they want to revolutionize a system in deficit – with care, tenderness and love.
For filmmaker Annelie Boros, this journey began with a personal tragedy. A year ago, her close friend committed suicide. Since then, one question has stuck with her: could things have been different if we lived in a more caring world?
