CPH:DOX offers internships where you can gain practical experience and expand your network in areas such as film, industry and education. Read more about available internships leading up to and during the next festival from March 11-22, 2026.
CPH:DOX – Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival – is one of Denmark’s largest cultural events as well as one of the largest documentary film festivals in the world with more than 150,000 annual attendances. The festival’s platform for professionals CPH:INDUSTRY annually attracts 2,000+ national and international delegates. Our offices are located in Copenhagen.

INTERN FOR CPH:DOX’ STREAMING PLATFORM, PARA:DOX
As an intern at PARA:DOX, you will help run CPH:DOX’s streaming platform and deliver the digital festival in 2027, bringing the festival’s best films to audiences across Denmark.
PARA:DOX is CPH:DOX’ year-round streaming platform for documentary films. Users can rent films from previous festivals for 49 DKK per film, while an annual KLUB:DOX membership gives users unlimited access to the platform.
PARA:DOX is also home to the digital edition of CPH:DOX, which takes place every year in the weeks following the physical festival in March. During the digital festival, users can watch the majority of films from that year’s festival for a limited period and vote for the Audience Award.
PARA:DOX is looking for an intern who, in close collaboration with the streaming platform’s Project Manager, can help with:
- Curating films, topics and formats for the platform
- Screening and uploading new films and handling video files
- Maintaining the platform’s front page in WordPress
- Calculating and paying royalties to rights holders
- Various administrative tasks

Practical information:
- The start date and internship period are flexible, but ideally from February through April 2027, so the internship overlaps with the digital festival
- Part-time or full-time, with flexibility to accommodate your studies
- Danish is not a requirement so English-speakers are welcome to apply
- Remote work is not possible. You must be able to work from our office in Kødbyen at least part of the time.
- This is an unpaid internship intended to form part of your study programme

Production Intern at CPH:DOX 2027
Are you a skilled organizer with a love for cultural events, film, and dialogue? Do you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and want to develop hands-on experience in the planning and execution of a major cultural event? The Production Department at CPH:DOX offers a unique opportunity to get involved in a variety of behind-the-scenes roles that bring our festival to life.
Our production team oversees every practical aspect of the festival. Whether it’s film screenings, cocktail parties, raves, concerts, or interactive art experiences — chances are we’re involved in making it happen. As an intern in our department, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the festival on multiple levels, including (but not limited to):
- Event Coordination – Design and produce parties and events, manage technical production, coordinate bar logistics, guest lists, plans, and timetables between festival staff and partners.
- Technical Production – Research solutions for unique, one-off events; install and de-install screening rooms; assist with pre-production and execution of concerts.
- Ticket Coordination – Learn how we manage our ticketing system, ensuring a seamless, satisfying customer experience from start to finish, while also collecting vital data for ongoing festival development.
- Venue Management – Turn your plans into reality as part of our skilled venue management team on the ground during the festival.
The responsibilities in the production department are plentiful and diverse. We welcome applications from students with different backgrounds and characteristics and will do our best to tailor your role and internship to benefit both your development and the festival.

Practical Information:
- Internship Period: Early November 2026 (earliest) – early April 2027.
- Hours: Full-time (37 hours/week) with flexibility to accommodate your studies. This is an unpaid internship and ideally fits within your academic curriculum.
- Availability: Willingness to work during the entire festival (10-21st of March 2027), including weekends, is preferred.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license (category B) is a plus but not a firm requirement.
- English speaking proficiency is a requirement, Danish is a plus.

Intern at the brand-new film festival RADAR
Autumn/Spring 2026/2027 (flexible period)
RADAR is a new film festival for children and young people under Copenhagen Film Festivals. Through powerful film experiences, conversations and creative activities, we explore the questions that shape the lives of children and young people – from identity and community to climate, technology and democracy.
The first full edition of RADAR Film Festival will take place in March 2027.
The Programme Department is responsible for curating the programme and communicating RADAR’s programme to schools and young people. In addition to films, our ambitious programme also consists of events, professional talks, workshops and educational materials.
We select and acquire films for our ambitious international film programme, create relevant partnerships and conduct outreach to our target audience. All of this leads to the festival in March 2027. During the RADAR, numerous screenings and events will be held throughout Copenhagen.

Possible tasks include:
- Participating in the development of the film programme, including film research, screening and communication
- Database management
- Communicating the programme to teachers, educators, families and youth
- Planning and running events
- Hosting, cinema coordination and oral communication during the festival
The most important thing is that you are interested in working with cultural content for children and youth, with a diverse range of tasks and direct contact with the target audience. At RADAR, you will be given a wide variety of responsibilities – from practical organisational and database work to creative development and event coordination. The internship can be tailored to your specific skills and competencies.

PROGRAM INTERNSHIP
The Program Department is responsible for the curatorial and editorial work behind CPH:DOX, selecting and shaping the festival’s documentary film programme. As an intern, you will get hands-on experience with the process of building an international film festival programme, from first research to final event.
TASKS:
- Screening and assessing documentary films for the curatorial work
- Researching films, directors, and international festival programmes
- Contributing to idea development for debates, events, and programme activities
- Assisting with the coordination and preparation of festival guests
- Practical support during the execution of events and programme activities
- Processing and handling film materials (e.g. screeners, metadata, and technical specifications)
- Ad hoc tasks tied to the Program team’s daily work
- Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Danish is beneficial but not required.
- The internship period runs from October/November 2026 to end of March 2027.
- The Program Department welcomes both full-time and part-time interns. This is an unpaid internship.
- We are flexible and can tailor the internship to fit your studies.
- Remote work is not possible — we are based in Kødbyen, Vesterbro.
