CPH:FORUM celebrates its 15th anniversary
It’s celebration time! CPH:FORUM, our long-standing financing and co-production event dedicated to visually strong creative documentary projects, turns 15 this year!
Wednesday 3rd Dec 2025
Since the first edition in 2010, top producers, highly acknowledged directors as well as new voices and talents have taken the stage to pitch a carefully curated selection of high-end documentary features and series at the intersection of non-fiction, fiction, visual art, journalism and science.
Each year, we aim to not only present the most exciting new works in non-fiction but also bring forward a curation of documentaries that resonate with the moment and can both mirror and challenge the realities of our current world – and not least expand the notion of what a documentary can be.
The role of documentary filmmaking as a space to foster understanding and provide critical perspectives is as crucial as ever, and CPH:FORUM is proud to be part of a community that brings important and nuanced stories to light.
Over the years, more than 500 projects from around the globe have trusted us as the place to present their new work. A majority of these projects have gone on to premiere at prestigious festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Locarno, IDFA, Hot Docs (and of course CPH:DOX), and to win awards and nominations at the Oscars, Emmys and Griersons, among many more.
To illustrate the scope of CPH:FORUM in terms of both artistic value, diversity and marketability, we have highlighted one critically acclaimed project from each of the last 15 editions. From the Danish classic ‘The Ambassador’ in 2010 to the IDFA-premiering ‘Elon Musk Unveiled – The Tesla Experiment’ in 2025.
But, these 15 projects are, of course, only the tip of the CPH:FORUM iceberg. You can discover some of the many other high-quality projects pitched at CPH:FORUM by talented filmmakers such as Tamara Kotevska, Ibrahim Nash’at, Petra Costa, Nelson Makengo, Johan Grimonprez, Penny Lane and many, many more – here.
We are now gearing up for the 2026 edition of CPH:FORUM. The selected projects will be announced in mid-January, and the Forum will take place Tuesday-Thursday, March 17-19, with CHANGE and CPH:ROUGHCUT presentations on Monday, March 16.
