CPH:DOX is delighted to announce the appointment of Josef Kullengård as its new Head of Industry & Training. Having played a key role in strengthening Göteborg Film Festival’s position as a leading Nordic industry marketplace, Kullengård brings a strong combination of strategic leadership, editorial experience and international industry expertise.
As Head of Industry and member of Göteborg Film Festival’s management team, Kullengård has overseen the strategic and editorial development of its industry activities, contributing to significant growth, expanded international partnerships and new opportunities for co-production and financing. His work has also included organisational development, securing new sources of funding and initiatives exploring the future of the audiovisual industry.
Josef Kullengård, incoming Head of Industry & Training, says:
“I am incredibly excited to join CPH:DOX, a festival I have long admired for its ambition, curiosity and unique position at the intersection of cinema, industry and society. At a time of growing societal polarisation and major shifts across the audiovisual industry, I believe the need for shared stories, new perspectives and spaces for creative exchange and collaboration is greater than ever. I look forward to immersing myself in the world of documentary filmmaking and its international industry, and to working with the fantastic team at CPH:DOX, building on their strong position, forge new partnerships and create opportunities for the next generation of storytellers.”
Katrine Kiilgaard, Managing Director of Copenhagen Film Festivals, says:
“We are incredibly pleased to welcome Josef to CPH:DOX. He has demonstrated a remarkable ability to combine editorial ambition with strategic thinking and a deep understanding of how international industry platforms can create real opportunities for filmmakers. As CPH:DOX enters its next chapter, we are preparing to expand our industry activities, build new international partnerships and strengthen the connections between filmmakers and the wider industry. Josef brings exactly the kind of editorial judgement, international experience and vision we need to help shape that future.”
Kullengård joined Göteborg Film Festival in 2017 and became Head of Industry in 2022. Previously, he worked with regional talent development and audiovisual strategy at Filmregion Sydost and was involved in establishing MAFF Industry Days at Malmö Arab Film Festival.
At CPH:DOX, he will lead the strategic development of the festival’s international industry platform, working closely with the festival’s management and established industry team, including long-standing Forum Manager Emma Mørup, who continues to play a central curatorial role in the development of the forum and related industry activities.
Kullengård will join CPH:DOX on February 15, 2027, following the upcoming edition of Göteborg Film Festival. Until then, Emma Mørup is overseeing the industry department in close collaboration with Managing Director Katrine Kiilgaard.
