Vladimir Tomic & Ana Pavlovic / Denmark / 2024 / World Premiere / 5 min
Six-year-old Vida tells her parents’ story as war refugees and how they found love. A touching, children’s film about war and love.
‘I live in Denmark and I am a human being’. Flying potatoes, rainbows and bananas. This is how six-year-old Vida abruptly tells the story of her parents Ana Pavlovic and Vladimir Tomic’s upbringing during wartime in Serbia and Bosnia respectively in this fun, exuberant cut-out animation film. It’s a story about her parents’ wartime experiences, about the huge war in the former Yugoslavia in the 90s, where family members died and where Vida’s parents eventually had to flee to Denmark. And how Vida’s parents eventually found each other and love after many scary experiences.
