‘The Dialogue Police’: How do we balance free speech and public order?
Following the screening of 'The Dialogue Police', Helena Olsen and Benjamin Bøgen Pedersen from the youth movement SAGA will be debating, while an expert in freedom of speech will nuance the topic.
In a time where nuance often gets drowned out in debates, and where the extremes move further and further apart, it is more important than ever to be able to talk across opinions, backgrounds, and beliefs. That’s why, in collaboration with SAGA, Denmark’s party-neutral youth organization, we are inviting you to a series of events where we delve into some of today’s most pressing dilemmas – based on selected films from this year’s festival.
This time, we focus on the balance between freedom of speech and public order. How can we ensure that all voices are heard while maintaining a respectful and safe public space?
After the screening of The Dialogue Police, Helena Olsen and Benjamin Bøgen Pedersen from SAGA will debate the topic, while an expert in freedom of speech will add nuance to the conversation by offering insights into the challenges we face. Together, we create a space for new perspectives, sharp arguments – and most importantly: acceptance of disagreement.
