Talk: European premiere and director’s talk with Mstyslav Chernov
After the film, we invite you to join a Q&A with the Oscar-winning director Mstyslav Chernov ('20 Days in Mariupol'), moderated by Jakob Sheikh (Danish Institute of Human Rights).
Chernov won an Oscar for his harrowing ’20 Days in Mariupol’, shot in the newly occupied Ukrainian port city in the early months of the war. Now the director returns with ‘2000 Meters to Andriivka’, a brutal reality check from the front line of the war. Chernov has placed GoPro cameras on himself and the Ukrainian soldiers who fought their way across the 2,000-meter distance to Andriivka in their desperate attempt to cut Russian supply lines to the Donetsk region. After the film, you can meet Chernov in conversation about being part of the battles on the front lines and how to create films with death as an imminent risk. The conversation is moderated by Jakob Sheikh, Head of Communications at the Danish Institute of Human Rights.
