’50 meters’: Who has the right to tell the stories?

In the company of director Yomna Khattab, Marina Vorobyeva (emerging director) og Haena Laura Na Blankholm (visual antropologist), we examine how filmmakers who convey great narratives are influenced by their own personal relationship to history.

It is a discussion that we never really finish. The question of how filmmakers who convey great narratives are influenced by their own personal relationship to history. Who gets to tell which stories? And does it take lived experience to turn a particular story into a universal experience? After the screening of ’50 Meters’, we invite you to a conversation where we explore who has the right to tell which stories, and how representation plays a role in film and documentary work. Meet the film’s director, Yomna Khattab, Marina Vorobyeva (emerging director) and Haena Laura Na Blankholm (visual antropologist).
