          The digital festival has started on PARA:DOX! 28/03-13/04

          Until Sunday 13 April, you can explore more than 150 films from this year's CPH:DOX program on the PARA:DOX streaming service. See a range of the festival's greatest hits, most of the Danish films at the festival and many smaller films that have not received the attention they deserve.

          CPH:DOX 2025 announces award winners

          The juries have deliberated and the winners of the international competitions at CPH:DOX 2025 have been announced this evening at the festival’s Award Show at Kunsthal Charlottenborg. The international competition lineup included a total of 71 films in competition, in 6 different categories, featuring 56 world premieres, 12 international premieres, and 3 European premieres. The main prize DOX:AWARD has been awarded to ‘Always’ by Deming Chen - a striking debut of great beauty (photo: Kathrine Thude).

          CPH:INDUSTRY 2025 award winners announced

          The juries have deliberated and the winners of the CPH:INDUSTRY awards 2025 have been chosen and announced during the CPH:INDUSTRY Awards Happy Hour at Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s Social Cinema on March 27. Additionally, three awards for immersive non-fiction have been handed out during the CPH:LAB Prototype Pop-up Event at Odd Fellow Palace on March 24, 2025.           Opening of the digital festival – Stream sneak preview of seductive deep-sea doc with panel discussion

          Together with our SCIENCE partners Netcompany and the National Museum of Denmark, we mark the opening of CPH:DOX's digital festival on Thursday, March 27 at 20:00 with a very special event dedicated to one of the new, important frontiers of the climate fight: the deep sea. And as something completely new, everyone in Denmark can experience the event, as the evening's film, the seductive deep-sea doc 'How Deep is Your Love', can be rented on our streaming service PARA:DOX from 19:00, while the following debate will be livestreamed for free from 21:45. So put on your red Cousteau cap and experience the fascinating yet endangered nature of the deep sea from the comfort of your couch.

          The CPH:DOX festival center opens its doors at 10:00 and only closes them again when the last event is over. Watch movies in the two cinemas Social Cinema and Mezzanine, experience our wild immersive exhibition INTER:ACTIVE, attend events and parties - and visit a critically acclaimed exhibition by the Istanbul-based visual artist Banu Cennetoğlu.

          Mette Frederiksen and Jens Stoltenberg to attend CPH:DOX opening gala on March 19

          Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and former NATO Secretary General and current Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg will discuss the film and the future of the NATO alliance after CPH:DOX's opening film 'Facing War'. The conversation will take place at CPH:DOX's grand opening gala in the Conservatory Concert Hall in Copenhagen on March 19 at 19:30, and both the film and the following conversation can be experienced simultaneously via a live stream in a large number of cinemas and cultural centers across Denmark.           CPH:DOX is in full swing, revealing the amazing documentary films, events, talks, and concerts that await at this year's festival, taking place from March 19 to 30. Today, the focus is on the world of music; this year’s program is packed with exciting films, musicians, and music culture—enhanced by unique live experiences you won’t want to miss. Audiences can look forward to documentaries about Madonna and Jeff Buckley, as well as well-known Danish names like TV-2 and Zar Paulo, who also have a place in this year's lineup.

          CPH:DOX unveils INTER:ACTIVE 2025 exhibition line-up under the theme ‘Untamed: Humanity Rewilded’

          CPH:DOX announces the lineup of artworks and experiences of its 2025 INTER:ACTIVE exhibition, under the theme ‘Untamed: Humanity Rewilded’, a provocative and immersive experience that urges audiences to reimagine humanity’s role within the natural world. Running March 19 - 30 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in the heart of Copenhagen, this year’s exhibition calls for ecological reconciliation and cultural transformation in the face of environmental crisis and social repression. The twelve selected works will compete for the INTER:ACTIVE Award for the second year in a row.

          When CPH:DOX takes place from March 19-30, it will feature visits from two internationally acclaimed figures who, from their respective artistic perspectives, will help shine a light on this year’s major festival theme: rights. These guests are Ai Weiwei and Eyal Weizman.

          Inaugural CPH:DOX Summit to launch at CPH:INDUSTRY 2025

          CPH:DOX is proud to announce the launch of the brand new CPH:DOX Summit presented in partnership with Documentary Campus and the Danish Producers’ Association - a new initiative kicking off CPH:INDUSTRY 2025 on March 24 from 12:30 to 17:30 at the Social Cinema of Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen.

          CPH:DOX in Cisternerne / Film and choir concert underground

          CPH:DOX invites you to a very special film and sound experience when we transform the iconic underground chambers of Cisternerne into a cinema on Monday March 24 and present an exclusive world premiere of Norwegian Sturla Pilskog's new documentary 'A Stranger in the World' followed by a choir concert with the chamber choir Musica. The event will take place twice on March 24: At 18.00 and at 20.00.

          New Nationwide Initiative Uses Documentary Films to Engage Youth in New Communities

          CPH:DOX aims to engage more young people. This year and next, the film festival is expanding its youth-focused efforts in five Danish cities with the goal of fostering civic and democratic engagement. This initiative builds on the festival’s long-standing commitment to youth participation through its Youth Editorial Team, nationwide film screenings, and a free workshop program organized in collaboration with volunteer associations.

          We are thrilled to announce that both fashion icon Twiggy and star musician Warren Ellis will be coming to Copenhagen with premieres of their respective documentary films during this year's festival.

          No Other Land Opens in Danish Cinemas November 21st

          The winner of this year's CPH:DOX Audience Award will be released in Danish cinemas on November 21. The film portrays how an alliance forms when an Israeli journalist meets a young Palestinian activist fighting against the control and forced deportations taking place in the Masafer Yatta region of the West Bank.

          The juries have deliberated and have reached a final decision on the winners of this year's 6 international awards, and the winner of this year's AUDIENCE:AWARD has also been found. The main prize DOX:AWARD goes to 'The Flats', while the Danish 'The Son and the Moon' will win the NORDIC:DOX AWARD.

          A Cinema for All: Aspekt Office and CPH:DOX Collaborate to Shape the Future of Cinema

          Telecoil loops, different types of seating and acoustic control are just a few of the things that design studio Aspekt Office, in collaboration with Sylvester Struckmann, has incorporated into the new temporary cinema at Charlottenborg, where inclusivity and sustainability are the overriding democratic focus.

          Wellcome to this year’s CPH:DOX 2024 program

          More than 200 new films representing the perspectives of filmmakers from all over the world: 84 world premieres, 32 international premieres and 9 European premieres are featured in this year's festival. Running from March 13-24, CPH:DOX 2024 takes off with a new nation-wide festival approach, with new thematic sections focusing on the most urgent topics of our time, from geopolitics to body politics. World premieres include films about Apollo 13, gender and Gaza, whereas the international premiere lineup includes hot Sundance titles like ‘Eno’, ‘Gaucho Gaucho’, ‘Frida’ and ‘Look into My Eyes’. Stars coming to Copenhagen include musicians Peter Doherty and Peaches as well as Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney and James Marsh.

          Max Kestner’s 'Life and Other Problems' will be the opening film at CPH:DOX 2024

          The Danish documentary 'Life and Other Problems' has been selected as the opening film at the 21st edition of CPH:DOX. The opening gala will be held on March 12 in Copenhagen at the Conservatory's Concert Hall, where director Max Kestner and a number of the film's participants will be present.

          CPH:DOX 2024 focuses on the body as a battleground and builds a new inclusive festival cinema

          When CPH:DOX opens its doors for its 21st edition from March 13 - 24, 2024 it will do so under the theme 'Body Politics.' With a focus on everything from fertility and 'ableism' to discrimination and trauma, the festival engages in current conversations about the body as a battleground. In connection with this, CPH:DOX introduces a new cinema at the Kunsthal Charlottenborg festival center – designed to be more inclusive for guests with disabilities.
