What happens when state power and platform monopolies put structural pressure on their ability to reach audiences with important stories?
How do today’s independent media sources push back against censorship, disinformation and algorithmic apartheid? Joanna Krawczyk, Irma Dimitradze and Bea Wangondu evoke the strategies that help ensure their stories will reach audiences. The conversation will take us to the places where civil society watchdogs and AI-assisted journalists are fighting to name and shame sources of disinformation, while engaging audiences and providing more trustworthy and transparent factchecking.
