In her debut hybrid feature, where she assumes multiple roles as director, producer, and editor, Asmae invites viewers to delve into an intimate tale set in Morocco. She skillfully navigates themes of memory and narrative invention, seamlessly blending reality with imagination to craft a captivating viewing experience. She will share insights into the challenges of reconstructing past events, her exploration of unconventional filmmaking techniques, and the personal involvement of her own family in the project.

Asmae El Moudir

Asmae El Moudir is a Moroccan film director, screenwriter and producer. She studied at La Fémis in Paris THE MOTHER OF ALL LIES is her first theatrical feature film. It received its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Directing Prize in Un Certain Regard.
